Catherine Yen

Catherine is in her second year of a Bachelor of Philosophy in Asian Studies. She follows Southeast Asia particularly closely, through lens of political science and anthropology. She is most interested in how everyday people engage with, are influenced by, and shape ‘big’ politics in the region. Catherine can speak a little Chinese and Thai, and is always looking for someone to practise speaking French with too.

Contrary to her hipster Melbourne blood, Catherine listens to trashy pop music in her spare time while thinking about conspiracy theories. She is an Ambassador for UNICEF Australia, and co-ordinates the Asia-Pacific Learning Community at the ANU.
