Eric is in his third-year of a combined degree in Asia-Pacific Studies and Economics with a major in Asia-Pacific Politics. He is passionate about Timor-Leste affairs, particularly its future economic development and is planning to study the Tetum language in future. He also takes a keen interest in the variations of culture within countries and how it shapes the dynamic of a society. Coming from a family of generational migrants from China, Southeast Asia and now Australia, he has always found the concept of individual identity and collective identity fascinating and likes to explore the way this shapes state-society relations.
In his spare time,Eric enjoys watching sport, particularly Aussie Rules football, listening and playing music, as well as cycling around Canberra.
