Mandy Liang

Mandy is the Special Projects Coordinator of Asia Pacific Week 2015. She is in her fifth year of a combined degree in Arts and Asia-Pacific Studies (Year in Asia) with majors in Development Studies, Chinese Studies, Year in China and minors in Chinese Language and Environmental Studies.

After spending a year in China last year as a part of her degree, she has returned with a strong research interest in NGO-state relations in China and an affinity for Shanghai soup dumplings. Aside from advancing her Mandarin language abilities in her year of exchange, she is also fluent in Cantonese.

In her spare time, you will find her engaging in activities mostly related to food such as cooking up a storm or visiting the Farmer’s Markets on Saturdays. She also loves going on adventures whether it be spending time overseas, visiting a nearby national park or reading about obscure places in the National Geographic.

For this reason, she is extremely excited to organize APW this year and to embark on the  “Roads less travelled” with everyone involved.
